Proclaimed by the province of British Columbia in 2011, BC CHILD AND YOUTH IN CARE WEEK (BCCYICW) is a time for everyone in communities across the province to stand in support and celebration of our province’s incredible, diverse young people in care. FVACFSS hold celebrations during this week across the Fraser Valley. Please do join in the festivities!

Young people in care advocated for the creation of this special week so their brothers and sisters can grow up feeling celebrated for their diverse talents and accomplishments. They also want to raise awareness about the barriers they face and fight the stigma that comes with being a “foster kid.” In celebrating this week, we hope British Columbians seize the opportunity to celebrate and support our incredible young people every other week of the year, too.
